Our mission is to provide underserved students around Chicago access to quality learning resources imperative towards unlocking their fullest academic potential. We aim to reduce educational inequities by combating systemic influences that impede student-access to essential supplies. By refurbishing used materials into quality kits for distribution, we strive to apply environmentally-sustainable practices to rewrite the narrative surrounding worn supplies. Our goal is to empower students to explore their creative outlets and tap into the powerful instrument of education.
The Re-Write It Project is a student-driven organization that combats educational inequities around Chicago by supplying underserved students with quality supplies imperative to their academic success. Our organization functions by collecting new and used supply donations from our centers around the city. We then refurbish worn materials to recondition them into quality supplies for distribution. Our supply kits contain quality learning resources that have been sorted and packaged based on the needs of individual youth institutions.
